Kathryn Kuhlman was a highly regarded televangelist and faith healer whose friends included religious figures ranging from Oral Roberts to the pope. She was known and beloved by viewers around the world.
But that didn’t stop two of her employees from trying to extort her into extending a personal services contract with them. The two had written a libelous and unfounded account of their time in her employ, and when they threatened Kuhlman with its publication if she didn’t extend their contract under generous terms, she hired Gary Glanz to intercede before her reputation could be unjustly destroyed.
It didn’t take the private investigator long to put a stop to the nefarious scheme. Trailing one of the men to a Newport Beach, Calif., shopping center parking lot, he deftly intercepted the only copy of the manuscript and, hours later, handed it over to a deeply relieved, and very grateful, Kuhlman.
